Blacky the Crow (Dover Children's Thrift Classics)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (April, 1999)
Average review score:

Listed reading level is not age appropriateI do not recommend Thornton Burgess' animal stories as baby level. Chapter books are not appropriate for babies. This book is appropriate for children ages 5 to 8. His books are full of wonderful stories which incoporate natural animal behavioural concepts which are impossible for infants to understand.

Books and Reading: A Book of Quotations (Dover Thrift Editions)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (August, 2002)
Average review score:

Books & ReadingBecause of my professional career, I collect quotation books about reading and literacy. And this collection by Bill Bradfield is the best I've found to date. Yes, he's got the standard oldies by folks like Emerson, Erasmus, and Shaw but he's also included up-to-date quotations from the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Malcolm X, and Stephen King. Granted, he included me in the list but I didn't need it -- I already knew what I said. At the price, it's the best bargain in quote books for anyone in education or libraries.

Building Integrated Office Applications
Published in Paperback by Que (February, 1996)
Average review score:

A heavily dog-eared and marked up book on my shelf. My thanks to Gordon Padwick. Integrated Office Application lifted the veil from my eyes and I finally understood how to control one MS Office application from another. It has great, practical examples of how to control Excel from Access, Access from Excel, Excel from Word, etc. Learning about CopyFromRecordset (an Excel Range method) was enough to justify purchase of this book! I grok it now.

The Canterville Ghost and Other Stories (Dover Thrift Editions Series)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (November, 2001)
Average review score:

What if ghosts were just enslaved victims?Oscar Wilde, in this Canterville Ghost story, reaches a tremendous level of humor and caustic social vision. The humor comes from the fact that the American family that buys the ghost along with the mansion takes him as being real and apply to him all the possible modern techniques to improve his life and make his sojourn in the mansion untroublesome for the new inhabitants. It is also funny because two young boys play all kinds of tricks to the ghost and there is no end in their creativity. But the story is also a little bit sad because it reveals the ghost has become a ghost when the brothers of his wife, whom he had assassinated, took vengeance and starved him to death. It also reveals that the ghost can be redeemed if love comes along and frees him of his misery and fate. And this love will come from the young daughter of the American family. She will naively open her heart to the suffering of the ghost and thus free him of his lot. This also shows how the attitude of the English owner of the mansion are just not interested in the suffering of the ghost, whereas the Americans will take this ghost seriously and will try to understand him and give him solace. Beyond the humor of the tale there is the tremendous belief that suffering can be solved.

Cat Silhouettes: 23 Black-And-White Pressure-Sensitive Stickers
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (April, 1994)
Average review score:

Not bad for the priceThis is just a little book filled with black and white cat silhouettes, pretty self-explanatory. You can use them for camera-ready art or whatever. I'm not sure what makes them pressure-sensitive, they look like normal stickers to me.

Cat Stickers (Dover Little Activity Books)
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (August, 1991)
Average review score:

Nice Product! These little stickers are adorable! They are also very durable. They are made of a nice thick paper that stood up to my children sticking, peeling and resticking them over and over again.
